Another brief note to catch up on some beers that I have drunk recently. I recently had a couple of bottles of Adnams “The Bitter” (4.5%). I thoroughly enjoyed it – it’s a very good beer – lovely hoppy, malty smell, full of flavour, dry and bitter, and very refreshing. There is a cask version of this beer at 3.7%, which I don’t see around very often, but is also extremely nice. Adnams style themselves “beer from the coast” – they are based in Southwold, Suffolk – and brew a range of cask ales – the most well known ones, apart from The Bitter, are Explorer (4.3%) and Broadside (4.7%) – but they also make a range of seasonal beers, which unfortunately I haven’t yet come across.
